Looks ok for Berkeley and UCLA. Stanford is always a crapshoot no matter how good you are. I know people with 4.0 GPA’s/4.7 unweighted, with perfect SAT, extracurriculars that barely fit in the spaces given, superb essay writers, and still didn’t get in there. And there are people with 3.5/4.0 weighted with ok SAT’s, few extracurriculars, have worse English skills than foreigners, who get in there. It’s a lottery game. I had a 3.9, 4.7 weighted GPA, 1580 (on the old 1600 SAT), and loads of extracurriculars and didn’t get in there (though I did get into Harvard).

The 4 b’s will have a pretty big effect but not too much that it prevents you from getting in. I think you got your weighted and unweighted GPA’s backwards there but you will need a higher weighted GPA for a great chance at the UC’s. Otherwise it looks fine and keep it up. Extracurriculars are good. Aim for a 2200+ on the SAT.

Your activities are wonderful, and every school wants you to be involved, but they will mean nothing if your grades and scores are not stellar. These are some of the hardest schools in the country to get into, so you really need to be good, and while your GPA initially looked good, the fact that your junior year grades were less strong will be a problem. You will be applying to college this year, and so the most recent grades they will see will be those lower grades. If they project your grades ahead, they are more likely to think your senior year grades would be like those you got as a junior, rather than those you got as a freshman or sophomore. I don’t mean to insult you, and I would apply anyway (it doesn’t hurt), but make sure you have some back-up schools which are more likely for you.
