I’m going into 10th grade in a few weeks, and I want to start studying for the SATs. I’ve aced every math question on practice SAT tests, and I do mean every single one, but I’m having a lot of trouble with the vocab. I don’t know over half the words and I would like to find a way to memorize the words. I’m currently reading Time magazine, New York Times newspaper articles online, and classical books. I also have a Word Smart book with 1505 SAT vocab words in which I memorize 5 words each day. Please recommend me another way to memorize vocab. Thanks in advance.

Hello everyone. I’m kind of in a rut right now. I signed up for my ACT testing WITHOUT the essay portion with my only fee waiver for the ACT. I can’t cancel the test. I’m planning on attending a Cal State University. Most likely CSU Long Beach.

Does anyone know if CSULB requires that essay portion of the test?
I know for sure that they only need SAT 1. & there’s no need for subject tests.
But the ACT essay portion is worrying me.

So i got an act prep book from the princeton review and I read it from cover to cover. I even took notes on the tips they give u in the begining of the book but i personally find them useless.
So i have just been doing practice questions but it doesnt seem like im getting better at any of the subjects.

So is there something i am doing wrong?
and should I keep doing the practice questions?

I recently took my first SAT… with little preparation. I’m planning on taking it again in October because I know I can do better. But I got a 1660 on my first SAT…. I really want to go to NYU but that seems way too far out of reach for me. I have many extra curricular activities but I’m sure they focus on SAT scores mainly. What would be a good backup school in New York City that would accept me if I don’t get accepted to NYU? Thanks in advance!

Hey , I just started preparing for the ACT I got the Barron’s ACT 36 Aiming For The perfect score and so far the book is pretty good.
I had planed for myself that I would study 10 pages each day form a chapter . if i do this it will take me 8 days for the English , 8 days for the Math , 5 days for the Reading , 6 days for the science , and 2 days for the Writing.

If I do that I’ll have the chance to practice a lot and see my weakest point and get back to it and practice more.
My Question is : Is it a good idea to do it like this ?

kk so i took the act and did OK but i wanna retake it. i got a 10 on the writing the 1st time so if i retake it w/o the writing, will my colleges b able to see my writing score?? or do i have to take it again for them 2 c it??

I just took a number of online IQ tests. I took the one from "HighIQsociety" three times and took four other random ones. My scores were (128,133,117) "HighIQsociety" and 110, 138, 125, 116 (other random tests) . All that I really got out of these tests is frustration since my scores seem to have a broad range. Are there any reliable online tests? Can I take an accredited IQ test at a testing center as I did for the ACT/SAT? Is it really even worth doing? I got a 28 on my ACT some years ago when I was entering college. I know that ACT/SAT measures knowledge (supposedly) and can change. But IQ is reportedly constant. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
