How hard is the ACT test?

Okay so i’m sixteen years old and a sophomore. I’m homeschooled and my parents are making me take the ACT this year. I’m so nervous because all my friends tell me its really hard. My friend who is a junior took it and got a 20. He’s one of the smartest people I know. Money is hard so I need to get a good score on the ACT to try to get a scholarship. Also how many times can you take the ACT a year? Are you only allowed to take it once? Or as many times as you want?

How to prepare for the SAT?

I am a sophomore in high school (in SC), and I was wondering what I could do to prepare myself for taking the SAT? Any books, courses, etc. that I should consider buying/attending? I want to do well on the SAT because I want to get into an ivy league college, so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

How to study for the SAT as a sophomore?

I am a sophomore in high school and have all A’s in mostly honors courses. I understand the importance of the SAT and I want to get started with my SAT studying now. What are some things that I could do as a sophomore to prepare for the SAT?

Are my SAT scores THAT BAD? Please help..?

Heya!
OK, let me tell you something about myself.
I live in NZ (little island in the oceania in vicinity to Australia), and I am in year 12 (I guess I can call myself a Sophomore/Junior).
I sat the SATs in May 2009 and my scores were posted 10 minutes ago.

And I got:

Maths: 730
Writing: 560
Reading: 620
= 1910.

Is it that bad? I feel really bad that I didn’t break the 2000 mark. Maybe it’s because I didn’t revise that well? (lol I did 2 exam papers 3 days before the day and that was it)

Please tell me how I can further improve my score and if I just live with a 1910, would I get into any of my "dream" colleges (listed below)?
University of California, Los Angeles, Berkeley, San Diego
Chicago
Michigan
Washinton at St. Luis
and of course the Ivy Leagues

I am most likely to resit the test with some intense preparation. How much do you think my score will raise? Would I be able to break the 2100 mark?

Sorry to bombard you with those endless questions. So any help is greatly appreciated.

How to get into Yale University?

I am a sophomore(now a junior) and I have a 3.67 unweighted GPA and higher with weight. I take all PAP classes and was initiated as a member of NHS this past spring. I am involved with choir as well as Academic Decathlon. My PSAT score was a 1950 I haven’t taken a real SAT in almost a year and i was enrolled in a prep course. I need to know what it takes to be a student admitted into some of the best universities in the United States. I am interested in studying Mathematics in college. All answers are very appreciated.

How do my extra curricular activities look for college?

I am a sophomore in high school right now. I have a 4.28 weighted gpa, and I predict myself to do well on the SAT/ACT because I am a good test taker. However, I am wondering how my extra curricular activities match up with colleges that I will be applying to. I am planning on applying to top-notch colleges (examples: Notre Dame, UC Berkeley), and I am involved in the following things: I am a writer for the school newspaper, I am on the yearbook staff, I run a tutoring business with 8th graders, and I have gone beyond my school’s requirement for community service hours. I plan on applying to be one of the editors of the school newspaper next year. I am wondering if my activities are sufficient, and I would appreciate any advice. I would appreciate an honest response; don’t worry about hurting my feelings lol.

Can I get into Rutgers New Brunswick? ?

As a freshman I had a 2.65 GPA with 1 honors. As a sophomore I had a 2.69 GPA also with 1 honors. Now as a junior, I am taking 2 AP’s, zero honors, and have a 3.73 GPA which will probably stay where its at. On the SAT’s I got a 1750 and that was without any preparation. If I can get a 2000 on the SAT’s, can I get into Rutgers New Brunswick? I live in NJ, I have over 200 hours of community service, I have done xc all 3 yrs however I don’t plan on doing it next year, I am involved in 5 different clubs, and I plan on adding jv basketball to the sports I did this year. Also, where can I go to sign up for college visits at Rutgers New Brunswick? Thank you for the help, as always best answer gets 10 points!

PS. The GPA’s are weighted.

Would graduating high school in three years affect getting accepted into a good University?

I’m currently 16 years old and a sophomore in high school. I have a total of 17 credits and I need 24 credits to graduate. If I take 2 classes in the summer, I’ll be set. I have talked to my counselor about it and it is possible, but he hasn’t really been helpful on giving me more information on getting into college with only three years of high school. I have pretty decent grades and already started taking Kaplan SAT prep courses in order to score high on SATs. Most of my friends are juniors, seniors, or college students. I wish to attend either New York University, University of Washington, or Boston University. Of course there are more colleges I’m looking at, but those are my three best choices so far. I want to know if graduating three years will be a big affect in my college application. If it does, I don’t mind staying. I just don’t want to keep wasting my time in high school and taking classes that I don’t need when I can be in college already.
