Can I take the ACT test as a college student?

I wanted to study abroad, but the school required that I take the ACT test. Since I didn’t take it and my senior year is already almost over, I was wondering if I could still take the ACT as a college student.

I’m thinking of only attending the American college for a semester and transferring to the university abroad next semester.

Is it possible for me to take the ACT test as a college student?

Thank you, your help is greatly appreciated.

SAT or ACT?

I dunno if I should take the ACT or SAT again. I had a bad morning the day I took the ACT, I hadn’t gotten any sleep, couldn’t find my calculator, and I had no idea what the format of the test was like because I never looked up anything about it. I ended up with a 29 when I know I’m capable of better since so many things went wrong that day. The SAT I didn’t prepare for. I got a 740 math, 720 reading, 660 writing. I feel like I could do better if I attempted to get a prep book or something.

I don’t really have the money to take both tests, but I figured I’d try to improve my score on one of them to send to colleges since next year is my senior year.

Which should I take? Should I take the ACT and send both scores if I improve that one? Or drop my ACT score and improve my SAT score?

SAT/Mock SAT result tips/advice?

Hello,

I’m a sophomore in high school and I want some tips and advice

for my preparation for SAT

I’m planning to take it in my senior year, Sept, Oct, Nov.

I took MOCK SAT at the beginning of the year and my score

was: math 700 reading 500 essay-> I didn’t get my result back

and I’m assuming it’s about 500 also.

I’m setting my goal at about 2200(the higher the goal the better)

I need some advice and tips to get there

English is my second language and my vocab’s really weak

How should I study for it? Should I read magazines? or

Should I study one of those "SAT VOCAB" books?

And I also need improvement in my essay

How should I prepare for that??

Also With 1 1/2 years left til I take the SAT do you think I can

get there??

Thanks

P.S. when you guys put tips and stuff, please tell how you studied and your results in SAT and your school GPA.

Do I need lots of extracurricular courses to get into college?

My grades are above 4.0, and ill see how i do on my SAT in March, but I want to apply to UCLA and UCSD. I have done cross country for 3 years (ill do it again in senior year) and i have 200 hours of volunteer work. Aside from that, i don’t have much other things i do. My grades and SAT are fine, but I’m still worried about my extracarricular courses. Do i need more ?

Can I go to HARVARD by taking the ACT only or do i have to do the subject test to? ?

The SAT is so hard for me and I am so confused and overwhelmed right now with my senior year. I want to go to a top tier university but I don’t have time to study the SAT material and the 3 subject test at the same time. I am not good at the SAT so I opted to take the ACT. Do I have to take the subject tests with this to? What should I do???? HELP PLEASE!!!

For anyone who scored a 24 or higher on the ACT test…?

What did you do to get a 24 or 28 or 30 on the ACT Test? I GO T a19 the first time, in my senior year and that’s not good..i’m going to retake it and study in advance to get a 24 or higher because I know that I can…and plus..I’ve got good grades and a good gpa and I need a score that will show why I have such good grades, because in the end, I could have really awesome grades, straight a’s and all, but if I score a freakin 19 on the ACT test, that’s kinda lame…
intelligence is what counts not straight a’s or b’s..right?

Do you have specific strategies when taking timed tests such as the ACT or SAT?

I have taken the ACT only once, and even though it’s easier than the SAT (which I havent taken), the time issue brought me down…just thinking about how much time I had left made me lose my concentration and therefore, made me lose more time.

For instance, in the Reading section, do you read the whole and terribly long passage or just answer while reading??
I didnt know what to do, I was just so nervous, and plus I didnt get any practice before the test (my bad :)

I got a 19 composite score (30 is max)…and I desperately need a 26!!!!! I have a few more chances to take it now in my senior year, but if you could give me some strategies I’d really appreciate it…
I thought it was 30, thanks for correcting that….

Will I be able to go to college out of state?

Okay I want to get into a good college out of state like University of Vermont or Cornell.

I live in the state of Georgia and I am going to the 2nd best school in the whole state which is a magnet school. So far I have a 3.1 GPA at my high school, all classes are honors level or college prep and I have taken 1 AP Course (will take 2 more my senior year) and got the highest average on that AP course. My freshman year of high school I had around a 2.7 GPA and made some F’s, I was not used to all the workload at a magnet school.

I took the SAT the first time around and got a 1470 but I am trying right now to make sure I take it in October, I am prepping everyday and yes it is an arduous task.

For extra curriculars:

I have done academic decathlon and won medals in it.
I am shadowing a doctor to help myself get some experience in the professional work field (I am doing it this summer).
I have done the Ambassadors health program for my high school.
I plan on doing soccer and tennis my senior year.

I learned English when I was 11, I am 16 now and I did most of my high school years in foreign countries. I go to a magnet school which gives hard classes. The county I live in is very poor. I am Asian (Indian).

If I get my SAT score to around an 1800 or 1700, could I get into a good college in the Northeast, Midwest or the West? Good as in 4 year college that is prestigious or somewhat known.

I REALLY WANT TO GET OUT OF THE SOUTHEAST/GA.

what are my chances of getting in any of the UC schools?Davis?

here the story… from elementary until high school i was one of the BEST students in all of the schools 4.0 all the time. I got so MUCH awards and medals. Now high school, I was distracted from my school work I didn’t realize it. High school was a big transition for me…I screwed up my freshman and sophomore year (not turning in hw or paying attention)…
Now when I do realize the path I am going I fear it might be too late…
I got GPA of 3.14 freshman year and 2.91 for Sophomore year
I have a 4.0 right now and over 100 hours (first semester of junior year)
I know I can make anything happen if I put my mind to it …
first I am dedicating all my weekends to studying and getting more service hours.
I know I can keep my GPA at 4.0 or even 4.14 with that one honors course from now till I graduate
Im planning to take as much APs next year as possible maybe ill get 4.4 in my senior year if they even look at them.
Im taking 3 SAT prep programs at the same time on saturdays, tuesdays, and fridays
Im wrestling at a varsity lvl
Im going to join a club also

So my question is….
a. what GPA do they look at (sophomore, junior)? do they take an average of all the GPAs (that would be bad because I’ll just have at most 3.4)?
b. do they look at senior year GPA?
c. so if I get 4.0 until I graduate and score 2000+ on the Sat with a varsity sport and more than 150 hours a good essay what are my chances? is there anything else I can do? Im desperate I will do anything… plus I dad works at Davis i am not considering csu schools only uc/ I want to be a doctor…
Im also in band

Can a GPA and ACT test result help decide your acceptance?

hey you guy’s I had like a 1.3 freshmen and sophomore year in high school but if I work hard enough junior and senior year and my GPA won’t get past at least a 3.0, then if I get a really high ACT score then can I still go to a good college because my ACT score was good and my GPA not quite high?
Please help me I’m in need of some good suggestions!
