Okay I want to get into a good college out of state like University of Vermont or Cornell.
I live in the state of Georgia and I am going to the 2nd best school in the whole state which is a magnet school. So far I have a 3.1 GPA at my high school, all classes are honors level or college prep and I have taken 1 AP Course (will take 2 more my senior year) and got the highest average on that AP course. My freshman year of high school I had around a 2.7 GPA and made some F’s, I was not used to all the workload at a magnet school.
I took the SAT the first time around and got a 1470 but I am trying right now to make sure I take it in October, I am prepping everyday and yes it is an arduous task.
For extra curriculars:
I have done academic decathlon and won medals in it.
I am shadowing a doctor to help myself get some experience in the professional work field (I am doing it this summer).
I have done the Ambassadors health program for my high school.
I plan on doing soccer and tennis my senior year.
I learned English when I was 11, I am 16 now and I did most of my high school years in foreign countries. I go to a magnet school which gives hard classes. The county I live in is very poor. I am Asian (Indian).
If I get my SAT score to around an 1800 or 1700, could I get into a good college in the Northeast, Midwest or the West? Good as in 4 year college that is prestigious or somewhat known.
I REALLY WANT TO GET OUT OF THE SOUTHEAST/GA.
