i scored a 1590 on the SAT the first time i took it. Im taking it again in OCT and i plan on studying my butt off for it so that i can get into my dream school. I want to improve my score by 350-400 points. Is it likely that i can increase it because my score was so low to begin with?? i took a practice sat test a while ago and made somewhere in the 1400’s and i didnt study for that. The last SAT i took i studied only a little and gained like 100+ points. I’m seriously going to study HARD for this next SAT so i can get a MUCH better score! Do you think it’s possible?

Ok so earlier today i took a practice SAT test online, and my scores were
Write- 540
Critical Reading- 480
Mathematics- 400

Bringing my total score to- 1420

I was wondering if those scores were good or not?…. Are they good, bad, average. I took it without studying, cause i don’t have any study material yet, and i’m planning on taking the real one in a few months. I know that if i study i can bring the score up, but i still don’t know if my score now is ok, i’m just wondering.

I took the SAT test this October and I felt horrible. I searched online and found that if I cancel my SAT score, there will be a notice that I took the October test and then canceled my score. Since many ivy league colleges not recommend students to take SAT more than three times. Do you think colleges will count my October test as once even if I canceled my score?

Alright, I just took the SAT in may and got a 530 on Critical Reading, a 620 on Math and a 580 on Writing coming to a total of 1730. I didnt do much prep for the test so i could probably raise it a bit if i take it again. I’m happy with my score but I’ll be honest, my grades suck, im usually labeled as an underachiever because I take AP/honors courses but usually just squeak by with a C. Its not that i dont try, I just don’t function well in a high school-style educational atmosphere. I do tons of extra corricular clubs/activities, but I feel like my grades might keep me from getting very far. Is a 1730 on the SAT going to do much to help me get into a decent college despite my average grades?

Are these good scores? I’m a freshmen in high school right now. So i still have a lot more to learn. But i’ve already taken algebra 1 and am in geometry. I’m also in an advanced english class. So do you think when i take the test for real once i’m a junior or senior i will have a better score, considering that i continue taking those advance classes?

I’m taking the SATs this May and probably another time after the summer. (I’m a junior in highschool.) Overall, I’m a pretty good student; my average is in the mid-90s. I reallyyyy want to do well but I barely have time to study. I scored a 1560 on my PSATs and I want to raise my score by at least 400 points. I know that if I really work hard at it, I can do it but I’m just not exactly sure how to study for it.

My friend told me about a Kaplan online course, she said that it helped her brother improve a lot. I also heard of a Princeton Review course… If you took the course, or know somebody who did, can you let me know if it helped? The classes are expensive and I wanna know that if I do end up taking a class, my money will be well spent. Thanks for answering =)

p.s. I’m planning to spend the summer studying hardcore lol so it would help to take a course of some sort to make sure I have a guide…

I’m a sophomore in high school and I want some tips and advice

for my preparation for SAT

I’m planning to take it in my senior year, Sept, Oct, Nov.

I took MOCK SAT at the beginning of the year and my score

was: math 700 reading 500 essay-> I didn’t get my result back

and I’m assuming it’s about 500 also.

I’m setting my goal at about 2200(the higher the goal the better)

I need some advice and tips to get there

English is my second language and my vocab’s really weak

How should I study for it? Should I read magazines? or

Should I study one of those "SAT VOCAB" books?

And I also need improvement in my essay

How should I prepare for that??

Also With 1 1/2 years left til I take the SAT do you think I can

get there??

I’ve taken the ACT twice, had little preparation the first time and took it cold the second; I got 33 on both. On the PSAT this year (I’m a junior) I got a 226. Anybody have an idea of what my SAT score will be? I took it cold yesterday.. I probably should have prepared a bit. :-/ Oops. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

I just took the act test today and I’m not sure how I did. I wasn’t feeling very well today. I’m thinking about taking it again. The next date is Oct. 24 and I was thinking of taking it again then. My question is can I retake the act before I get your results back from the first test I took? Or do I have to wait awhile. I’m applying to a college in January and want to get a good score on my act before then. Thats why I’m in such a hurry! Thanks!

I’m a freshman in high school, and I am thinking about taking the Biology Sat II. I am taking Biology Honors right now and the test will be in May, so there won’t be a lot of information we haven’t yet covered. However, what level is the Sat for Biology, I don’t know if Biology Honors is sufficient preparation for the test? Also what is considered a good score on this test?
