I am currently a rising Junior from Nebraska, so I hope that being from NE will give me some bonus points as far as geographic diversity.
I have a 4.0 unweighted GPA, and will be taking 7 AP classes by the time I graduate. I am ranked 1st out of 325 in my class. I have not taken the ACT/Subject Tests yet, but I am projected to get a 30-33 on the ACT.
As far as extracurriculars, I did a People to People Leadership Summit on International Diplomacy, I am a Freshman Mentor, National Honor Society, two other clubs, Junior Class Board, Student Council, Teen Court Judge, I volunteer at a hospital (so far, 75 hours, but I will continue until graduation), and I will begin tutoring when this school year starts.
I also have a job that I have had for over a year, and I plan on keeping it until I graduate.
I already have two teachers who I know will write me great recommendations.
So, assuming I get a 30-33 on my ACT, do I even have a chance, or should I lessen my expectations?
Thanks
To the one poster about liberals: I, personally, am an independent, but Nebraska has a long tradition of being very Republican.
Again to that poster: I think I will apply to Princeton, based on the responses I’ve seen here.
