Should I Prep for the ACT or SAT?

I plan on taking both the ACT and SAT but I am trying to decide which one to take a prep course on. Prep courses are expensive so I am trying to figure out what would be the most worthwhile to prep for. Any tips/recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
please provide some reasons on why you think I should prep for the act or sat

Where and when to take the SAT & Subject tests?

I’m in 11th grade. I wish to take the SAT and two SAT subject tests. Correct me if im wrong but I wish to take the PSAT soon in october, then begin to take SAT prep courses that will finish by the end of october, so then i’ll take the SAT in the following November or maybe even June. I’ll also take the two SAT II subject tests in June.

am i on the right track? please correct me if im wrong.

So I'm taking the SAT's on Saturday and I know I'm not prepared.?

I haven’t taken any prep courses or even opened the practice booklet. I didn’t take the PSAT because earlier in the year I was not doing my best and I thought I was just going to go to community college and I was kinda like "F" this. But now I am taking the SAT and I haven’t been taking it seriously. I’m just so unsure of what I’m doing after high school and I wasn’t thinking about SAT scores. I’m just scared that I will be overwhelmed. I do care about it, but it’s kinda too late huh?

How to prepare for the SAT?

Ok, im in tenth grade and am taking the SAT in about 2-3 weeks. Besides sat prep courses what should I do? Especially for critical reading.

SAT this Saturday, what can I do to ensure I do my best? (seniors taking the test, I have a message for u)?

Okay, I took a practice test and my scores were (the test was timed strictly and I took exactly 2 breaks)

Reading: 580
Math: 560
Writing: 610
Essay: 10 out of 12

(I took the free one from collegeboard).

I would certainly love to get an 1800 or above on the SAT this Saturday. Possibly a 600 or above on math and reading (I have done so on past practice tests).

Here are my questions

1. What can I do between now and Saturday to give my scores the final boost? (I have done a lot of work over the summer, took no prep courses and did not hire a tutor, I made a 1470 on my March SAT)

2. Should I just relax and keep calm the coming days or should I aggressively review SAT material?

ALSO TO ALL SENIORS OF THE CLASS OF 2010

Whatever school you are at, wherever you are, best of luck on your SAT. I am a senior myself. I hope you do great on your SATs and that you guys end up getting scholarships and getting into the colleges you want. LEMME HEAR A OOOOOOOOOOO RAAA!

Good way to prepare for SAT AND ACT?

im going to take both exams next spring and i have not taken the psat so what are some other good ways to prepare for these exams? ive seen ads on the internet offering SAT prep. courses but they sound like scams. any ideas?

Not sure whether to take SATs or ACTs?

I am going to be a Sr. in HS and haven’t taken the SATs or ACTs yet but I am soon going to schedule to take one of them. I’m not sure which would best suit me. I did take SAT prep courses in Jr year and did pretty well with them but have not taken any PSATs which makes me afraid I won’t do well. On the other hand, I have no ACT preparation but heard it is shorter and covers more things you’ve learned in high school. Can anyone suggest one or the other (based on experience) or if not, at least some pros/cons to both.

Which is better – studying on your own or prep courses-for SAT?

I’m a junior and i’m taking the SATs this year.
The thing is..
I don’t know whether to study for it on my own OR take prep courses.
The thing with prep courses..is that they’re really expensive.
And..
I don’t really think i do as well when I study on my own,
but i want opinions !

Any would be nice :]

Please & Thank You!

What books/other references should I buy to prepare myself for the SAT?

I decided not to go to SAT prep courses because I think I would learn more by studying straight from books myself. So I was wondering which books should I buy to study for the SAT? Should I buy from Kaplan, Princeton Review, College Board, or some other brand? If so, which specific books should I buy? Also, to study on the vocabulary, how should I study on them, using flash cards and where do I exactly buy them? Other things about studying for the SAT would be helpful too.
