ACT test review?

I am looking for a good and accurate prep book for the ACT other than the Peterson’s "Real ACT Prep Guide." Anyone have any suggestions? I was going to get barrons but the questions in barron are known for being insanely harder than the test actually is. I heard sparknotes also has a book?

( Please answer)How much can one truly improve his/her SAT score?

Can you cite a resonable source as well? By the why I’m 15 and entering my junior year. I just took a practice test from the barron’s 2400 Sat prep book and I got about a 1450. A 450 on critical reading, 600 on writing, and a 400 on math. Is the barrons sat book valid? Can I get some advice on improving my score? Please answer all of my questions. If cant asnwer all, then please answer my very first question.

Best SAT and ACT Prep Books?

Im a junior in high school, and am wanting a prep book that will teach me and show me how to do the problems, not just be full of 30 practice tests.

Is there any way to raise my act score?

I took the act in june and got a 27 (i didn’t do that well on science or reading), which was the same score I got when i first took it in April. I know this score is pretty good, but I’m really aiming for a 30 (or higher). I have a Barrons and Kaplans act prep book (btw i can’t really afford a tutor), but does anyone have any tips/helpful advice?

Does anyone know of any good online SAT prep websites that are also free to use?

I have found www.number2.com to be pretty useful but I was wondering if anyone knew of any other good sites to use.

Also, I was wondering: Can anyone tell me if the Barron’s SAT Prep book (not the 2400 Edition) sample tests are more difficult than the actual SAT test?
I couldn’t figure out how to reply to you guys so here it is:
I asked my parents if I could take a review course and they said I could do it, but they quickly changed their mind once I told them the price. I don’t quite have enough money to pay for it myself. I’v been reviewing from a Barron’s review book though,

Thanks for the info about Sparknotes, I didn’t even think to check there.

SAT + SAT II Test Preparation?

I am going to take the SAT test soon.
To prepare for it, I’m thinking to buy the "The Official SAT Study Guide (TM)" and enroll in its online course, "The Official SAT Online Course™" (both by Collegeboard)..
I’m just wondering – has anyone tried the book and is it a good prep book? Also, anyone tried the online course? Does the online course prepare you well for the test? Is it worth its price?
Or do I have to take like real Saturday classes in order to do well on SAT?

For SAT II subject test, I’m planning to take Math, but I have no idea whether to take Math I or Math II. Is Math II a lot harder than Math I? What’s a good book to prepare me for either?
I might also take Chemistry. Is SAT II for Chemistry hard? Any book recommendation?

Only serious inputs please.
Thank you and good day.

Best ways to prepare for the SATs and ACT?

Can you list every tip that will help do good (I’m a freshman)…I mean I know to get the SAT and ACT prep book and practice, read books of higher level, reading the dictionary, possibly tutoring if affordable but what else is there?

Stupid SAT's-What is the best way to prepare for the PSAT and then the SAT?

Ok, so I’m just wondering what is the best way to prepare. Like in your opinion, which SAT prep book is the best and which SAT prep classes are good as well. Right now, I am in incoming Sophomore and I plan on taking my PSAT for practice in preparation for the real one when I’m a junior. I feel like since this is the summer, it is the best time to study. Though, I have a few questions:

Is it too early to study?
What is the most time efficient way to study and prepare?
From other similar questions I read and the answers to them, I should go and take LOTS AND LOTS of practice tests, but, I kind of don’t want to take them until I improve my vocabulary.
Or do you think I should just take a few practice tests right now regardless of how pathetic my vocab is?
What are some good ways to memorize vocab and improve on grammar/puncutation/critical reading in general?
In your opinion/personal experience, which prep books are the best?
Oh, and when you do buy a practice book, do you actually read what they write or skip straight to the practice tests?

What are some other good ways to study for the PSAT/SAT?

SAT preparation?

I am planning on taking the SAT this upcoming year. Since it’s summer right now, I am hoping I can prepare for the SAT as much as possible. I have a few questions.

1. What is the BEST SAT prep book?
2. Should I take any online/classroom SAT courses? If so, what is the best class?
3. If I study on my own, what is the best way to study for the SAT daily?

How much does Barron’s help for SAT preparation?

I am trying to figure out which SAT prep book will help me out the most. I’ve asked this question before and different people said that I should try Barron’s, Kaplan, and Princeton Review. I really do not know which one I should choose. I have already tried the collegeboard’s blue book but that did not help me very much. Many people say to go with Barron’s because it "overprepares" you. Can you help me out? If you suggest a prep book, can you please explain why I should choose that one? Thank You!!:)
