Will taking the ACT test ONLY decrease my chances in getting accepted to universities in CA (pub/private)?

Okay I am in a dilemma..
Currently, I am a junior in highschool, who gets pretty decent grades (3.5 unweighted GPA first semester, aiming for 4.0 this semester..starting out with all As..right on track ) I am taking a couple of honors, AP, and regular classes. My question is that will only taking the ACT test decrease my chances into getting into universities here in California? with of the competition going around.. (Is it more SAT based or what?) I’m really scared of whats going to happen in the future.. I got a 1400 on my SATs (didn’t study really..) which is like below average..and on practice tests i would get around that same score range..I feel like I will never get a good score on the SATs..
I took the ACT test last week and I felt like I blew through that test. It seemed very easier than the SAT test..I feel more confident with what my ACT score will be , but I don’t wanna say anything until I see the actual score. Should I quit my SAT classes and switch over to ACT classes? Advice would be VERY much appreciated..

SAT II Biology Barrons Practice Tests?

Ok, I am taking the SAT II Biology M tommorrow morning and I was wondering if the Barrons practice tests are similar to the real thing difficulty wise and content wise. Because I took the 2 practice tests in the Barrons book and got a 750 + 760 however I also took 2 practice tests on sparknotes and got 600 and 700. I was wondering which one of these is closer to the real thing and what you guys think I will get on the real test based on these scores.
Just took a Barrons practice tests on the CD and got 780 :)

How do I grade my Practice Test out of the Kaplan SAT Prep Book?

I have the Kaplan Premiere SAT book of 2010 and I have been taking practice tests out of it nonstop. I can’t seem to find out how to see what my grade would be if it were a real SAT. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Do I have any chance getting into a good UC?

I am a junior in high school and a good student, but as a sophomore i slacked off a bit and didn’t do as well as I wanted this first semester as a junior..I got a 4.0 freshman year, but since that doesn’t really count, my combined 10-11 gpa will probably be around 3.7-3.8 weighted.
As for test scores, I will probably get above 2000 on the Sat and 33 on the ACT based on practice tests I have taken.
I don’t really do any sports, I just did cross country in freshman year and track a little while last year. I have many volunteering hours at the hospital. I now am a tutor. I have been on a trip with People to People Student Ambassadors. I am in FBLA and Model Un Clubs.
Do you guys think i have absolutely no chance into getting into Berkeley (where I really want to go) or any of the good UCs?

Improving SAT math score? (am I taking the right approach)?

So I took the SAT on March and I made a 450 on the math, of course I was a little sick when I took the test so that had a lot to do with it. Now I take the SAT practice tests and I usually make 540s to 560s on it.

I have the official collegeboard SAT study guide, Princeton Review (cracking the SAT and 11 practice tests book), SAT math 800, and Kaplan SAT Math workbook. I usually do some problems on the SAT Math 800 book which gives the most difficult problems.

I take the SAT on October 10th, I am thinking about just reading the SAT math section on the official SAT Study guide from collegeboard and doing the quizzes in the book. Is this a wise move?

Would that be the right approach if I want to raise my math SAT score to a 600?

What do you suggest?

what might my SAT scores be?

I got a 1700 on my psat with no preperation and not much effort when I actually took the test. I am a sophomore now and I’m taking my SAT’s next year. If I take SAT prep courses twice a week and do some practice tests, what do you think my SAT score will most likely be if I take it 2 or 3 times?

College Board Bio SAT Subject Practice Test?

Is the College Board provided practice test for the Bio SAT really real tests? I found that on their practice test, I scored much higher than on the practice tests of Barron, Kaplan, Sparknotes

How effective do you think the Collegeboard Official SAT Online Course is?

I am a junior in high school taking the SAT this march and I have been trying to study by myself to save money. On recent practice tests, I have gotten scores like 1850/1860 and my goal for my first attempt at the SAT is above a 1950 [getting above a 1950 means my parents will let me go on vacation with my friend's family this summer!]. I just enrolled in this online course a couple days ago and I have three weeks to improve my grade. My breakdown was as follows: Critical Reading- Writing- 650 and Math-650. I feel like i should be able to get at least around a 750 in math because I’m in Calculus, so maybe i was just having a bad day. Do you think the Collegeboard Online SAT course will help me or should i do something else? Also, what other ways are good to study at this point? Please take some time to answer. Thank you!

Do full length practice SAT tests help a lot?

I attend a sat prep class and they always tell me to take a full length practice test almost once every two weeks. It’s about 3 1/2 hours long, and it seems like it’s taking away half of my day, when I can practice just the part(critical reading, which I need help on) at home.

1. Many people say full length practice tests are helpful..How?
2. Full length practice test vs. Critical Reading practice for 3hrs?

What is the best ACT prep book to learn the actual material within the exam?

Exactly as the question asks. I know the Real ACT prep guide is for practice tests but I wish to learn the actual content of the test.
Any recommendations?
