College Board Bio SAT Subject Practice Test?
Is the College Board provided practice test for the Bio SAT really real tests? I found that on their practice test, I scored much higher than on the practice tests of Barron, Kaplan, Sparknotes

OK..so I took the PLAN today and that thing is majorly effed up…ok there were like 50 english questions and we only have like 30 minutes to answer them all and we had to read looong paragraphs to answer questions..it was just dumb. The teacher announced when there was 5 minutes left, and on all the sections I had like 10 questions left?! Why is this? Why do they have such idiotic time limits? I mean they’re not even evaluating the knowledge of people, just if they are a good guesser or not! Is there a practice test online to see what I probably got on my test?
How accurate is the PLAN in predicting what someone will get on their ACT?
I attend a sat prep class and they always tell me to take a full length practice test almost once every two weeks. It’s about 3 1/2 hours long, and it seems like it’s taking away half of my day, when I can practice just the part(critical reading, which I need help on) at home.
1. Many people say full length practice tests are helpful..How?
2. Full length practice test vs. Critical Reading practice for 3hrs?
So I just took the SAT practice test that was provided in my SAT book. I got a 1250 which I find to be a bit low. The thing is I didn’t study..I just used my knowledge from school. I’m taking the real thing soon. All my other friends got at least 200 points higher than me..So is 1250 (for someone who did not study) good?
i just took the official sat practice test and got a 2140, which is the highest i’ve ever gotten so far. (last time i took was about two months ago and i got a 2020)… so does that mean my score will only go up?? will it ever go down? i feel pretty confident, because my reading and writing scores have been really consistent and my math score just went up 100 to 760… what do you guys think? how reliable are these prep tests?
also are ivy league schools within my reach provided that i have good ec’s, good gpa, essay, recommendation and a higher sat score, since i’m only a rising junior..
I haven’t taken the real test yet but I took the online practice test with the scored essay and got 2000. Also I would like to know if you think I could improve my score. I will take the test on november 1 but I’m interested in going to McGill University so i must get higher grades.
Do you think I can improve them with the SAT online course and the SAT study guide?
Thanks
Neil F. I’m from Mexico not form the US I am not familiar with the SAT, so no I didn’t know if it was a good score. If you aren’t going to help why do you even answer?
Thanks to everyone else =)
Are the Princeton Review SAT practice test generally harder than the Sat and other prep books?
I took the Barron’s 2400 practice test and I got a score in the range of 1450-1520. I got a 1580 on the PSAT. I took the PR sat practice test and I got a 1210!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!… I’m so annoyed. Now I really dont know where I stand in terms of SAT performance.
So I just started studying for SAT week ago. I bouth a very large college book and am studying from page one till the end and after all the reading I will do the practice test! Is that a good idea? Also I know I shouldnt expect to be doing great because I just started but if I study till my SAT in June and I stay consistent and study an hour a day as I am doing will I eventually learn and get to a lot of the info to improve and go a lot better than if I didnt study? Because everytime I go over sections in the book and do all the practice questions I get them wrong but as I get them wrong I learn why so do you think its just because im just starting to learn and over time will I improve to do better than my PSAT score of 1120 which was horrible because I was totally unaware of the sat and how to take it and guesed through a lot.
I just finished grading my practice test and this is what I got:
CR Scaled Score Range : 490-550
Math Scaled Score Range: 470-530
Writing Scaled Score Range: 510-640
Writing MC Subscore Range: 51-61
What is my overall score out of 2400?
Is the writing really hard to do well on? At this SAT preparation course students, including my friend and I, took practice tests similar to the SAT, which I know because of taking tests from the blue College Board book and asking another friend who took the SAT and the same course when she was our age, about 2-3 years ago.
My friend got an 800 on writing, and I got a 740, but for some reason when she took the real SAT (I haven’t yet), she only scored a 600. What gives? She was really good at writing and did assignments for 25 minutes in 10 minutes, getting maybe 1 wrong. Also the person who is most likely gonig to be valedictorian at our school only got a 710.
Any tips? In the College Board book I’m scoring in the 700s, getting only maybe 4 wrong with. I think my essays are pretty good. I need a good writing score because math is the easiest for me, probably a pretty easy 770+, but critical reading I’m only getting mid to high 600s. I was counting on the writing, which is easy for me, to get me around 2150-2200, but people aren’t doing good on it. Why?? Advice???
Also, on the PSAT I got a 68 on writing (HOWEVER, only 3 were wrong and none blank; it must have been a bad curve, and after looking at the PSAT I realized one or two of those errors were really stupid mistakes).
I know I need a good score for good colleges. I don’t really need help with writing since I’m getting almost every question right under timed conditions. I just don’t get why such smart people are doing so poorly, including my friend who got an 800 on writing for a practice test similar to the SAT.
