I took the test online and maybe it was luck or maybe I’ve been studying harder then usual, but I got a way higher score then I did when I took an mock sat in May.
Last year I got:
Math-530
Reading-590
Writing-470 (5 on essay)
On the practice I got:
Math: 610
Reading: 640
Writing: 690 (6 on essay)
Are the practice ones maybe easier or do they grade not as accurately? I’d like to know.
Here’s my situation, i’m taking the SAT for the first time this October (gonna be a junior).
K, like I get really really good grades (everyone at my school thinks i’m a genius), but i can’t figure this SAT out. My parents are telling me that this is the last step before getting into an ivy leagure college or something..
I took the PSAT sophomore (and yes, i studied), and i my exact score was 189. 62 in reading, 57 in writing, and 70 in math.
Nowadays, (like i’ve taken more than 7 practice tests from books like official study guide and princeton), my score seems to near 190 STILL.
which is very very bad. I still make about a 70 in math, a 65 in writing, and a 55 in reading..!!! iono, it seems like my reading score dropped (but to tell u the truth, i got REAL lucky on the PSAT to get a 62).
so guys, experts, whatever, what should I do? I really really need at least a 2100. I used to think that i would be able to get a 2200 with some studying, but even that now seems like an unrealistic goal. Everyone i know think that i can ace the SAT without even studying…, this sucks.
help help help (oh yea, i’m self studying, don’t have the time for SAT classes and they don’t seem to help a lot of my friends)
and ps, for the reading, iono why i get a low score. i finish it on time, its just that the passages, and the vocab are hard to understand. I’ve always made an A in english… and i even studied flashcards just to improve on the reading section

I have SAT’S coming up this Saturday, so I have exaclty 6 days left to study. Unfortunately, I have been planning a fundraising event for the last month and have not been able to study much. Now that that is finished, I really need to get going. I have been studying for SAT’s for quite a while now, but only about 1 practice test a month. I currently am scoring about 2040-2060 on my practice tests. I want to get a 2100-2150 on the SAT. Currently, I am hitting about 700 in both reading and writing, and 640ish in math. What can I do in the next six days to up my score just enough?? Also, I have a lot of AP classes and school so I can’t practice ten hours a day…

Hello. I can’t decide what I should take. I’m a Russian student, so I have a more difficult school program for Science and Math. But I’m not sure that I’m going to have a lot of time for preparation because the first tests will be in December. I have also SAT II US History and Physics. My college list is three Ivies, Stanford, MIT and NYUAD.
Should I take level I or II?
So, I am studying for the SAT I test for October 10, and here is the info about my status right now.
Studying 1.5 hours everyday
Currently have finished 5 practice tests, average 2250 each one.
Started off first practice test beginning of summer with 2160.
Math is usally 800
Writing is usually 770-790
CR is usually 680-710 (weakness)
I am using the Collegeboard Blue Book, and the online course
I also have Barrons 2005 edition, the first modern SAT one
Collegeboard’s online grader keeps giving me 12 on all of my essays.
I am aiming for 2300+
Could you please predict my score?
So i just took a SAT practice test out of the college board book Edition 2.
For the first 3 test, when i entered the scores online, it gave me straightforward test scores (e.g) 650 crit reading, 660 math, 670 writing.
After the first 3 tests, the scores began to vary (e.g.) crit reading 630-710, math 660-720, writing 620-750.
I’m wondering how do i calculate my actual score when the score range has bounds? Like do i take the median between the two bounds (e.g.) (630-710). My score would be 670 in that field?
I have taken it twice. The first time i got a 1380, then next i got a 1470…but if you take the highest parts from math reading and writing and combine them its a 1500..on a scale og 1600 its a 1040.
Anyway Im going to enter my senior year of highschool and my friend (who hasnt told me her scores) is going to retake it again and is taking a class. She is pressuring me to take the class and said a 1500 isnt good enough.
I want to go to a somewhat decent school where the normal SAT score is about a 1650 to get in. But i have a 3.2 GPA so would that hel?
So basically is a 1500 good enough. If you dont mind could you tell me your SAT scores and if you got into an ok college. SHould i take the class(I never took one for the SATs just online tests) and should i retake it or am i ok?

for the practice SAT tests, the highest I have gotten in math was 680 (recently took it and got 640…. so from 640-680). My reading that I just took was a 600 and my writing that I just took (without the essay, just the MC) was 600. I plan on really working on these to improve them, but how do they stand as of now? I plan on graduating a year early, and need to take my SAT in the next couple of months. And also, do you have any tips on improving my scores? What colleges can I get accepted to with these scores (btw, I have all As, and am in many extra curricular activites); Thanks.
