Is my SAT score good? Any tips on how to improve?

I’m 13 years old. I just took the test and I got a 1770
570 in Critical Reading, 600 in Math, 600 in Writing

My dad thinks I did horrible and I need to improve greatly

Anyways, how do you think I did? Tips on improving would be greatly appreciated.
I got a 9/12 on the Essay
I’ll be taking the test again shortly (6-12 months)

What should I study in a crash course for the SAT?

I understand it’s out of 1600. Math and English are the two main sections. Should I be doing research on American history, geography etc?

SAT or ACT?

I dunno if I should take the ACT or SAT again. I had a bad morning the day I took the ACT, I hadn’t gotten any sleep, couldn’t find my calculator, and I had no idea what the format of the test was like because I never looked up anything about it. I ended up with a 29 when I know I’m capable of better since so many things went wrong that day. The SAT I didn’t prepare for. I got a 740 math, 720 reading, 660 writing. I feel like I could do better if I attempted to get a prep book or something.

I don’t really have the money to take both tests, but I figured I’d try to improve my score on one of them to send to colleges since next year is my senior year.

Which should I take? Should I take the ACT and send both scores if I improve that one? Or drop my ACT score and improve my SAT score?

How much will an SAT score of 1730 help me get into college?

Alright, I just took the SAT in may and got a 530 on Critical Reading, a 620 on Math and a 580 on Writing coming to a total of 1730. I didnt do much prep for the test so i could probably raise it a bit if i take it again. I’m happy with my score but I’ll be honest, my grades suck, im usually labeled as an underachiever because I take AP/honors courses but usually just squeak by with a C. Its not that i dont try, I just don’t function well in a high school-style educational atmosphere. I do tons of extra corricular clubs/activities, but I feel like my grades might keep me from getting very far. Is a 1730 on the SAT going to do much to help me get into a decent college despite my average grades?

SAT help!!!!?

I just took a practice SAT test online…
they said i got….
critical reading: 500
writing: 540
math: 540

Are these good scores? I’m a freshmen in high school right now. So i still have a lot more to learn. But i’ve already taken algebra 1 and am in geometry. I’m also in an advanced english class. So do you think when i take the test for real once i’m a junior or senior i will have a better score, considering that i continue taking those advance classes?
I want to get into a school like uw madison or um twin cities

How much did your SAT or ACT score improve by?

I would have to improve by 250points if I want to get a good scholarship (but no boarding, book fees…etc).

Reading>Math

The first time I took it was during 10th grade and right now I’m a senior (in two weeks anyways). I didn’t take it last year because of the test fee…

Just wondering if NORMAL people out there have been able to bump their scores up more than the "predicted" 30points?

Also, how was the ACT? I haven’t taken it yet.
Edit: I’ve taken my core classes to the honors and AP level…but a class and a test are two different matters for me….

I heard the ACT was similar to state comprehensive assessments tests? Any of that seem true when you took it? Sounds like it if it measures from the curriculum.

Improving My SAT Score?

ok. I just took a practice SAT test and got a 1920. No prep, nothin. Do you guys think with hard work it’s possible to get this above a 2100 in a year (I’m a rising Junior). I need to work on reading and writing… 760 math, 520 CR, 640 writing (yeah, you can call me "smart-retarted-average"). Also I started the test at 9:30 so it went pretty late and maybe I could have done better if I were rested. But anyway, I really want that 2100 and want to know what kind of a shot i got. PEACE

What should I do to prepare for the SAT?

I’m taking the SAT in March and would like to know what the best way to study for the SAT is. I took the PSAT in the fall, and I got 63 in reading, 69 in math, and 68 in writing. I want to improve my scores on the actual test. What helped you study for the SAT? What do you think you should have done to prepare?

Best ACT test taking book that I can buy?

Im looking for an ACT book that will help me all around in general.
My weakest point is math though.

Thanks!

SAT/Mock SAT result tips/advice?

Hello,

I’m a sophomore in high school and I want some tips and advice

for my preparation for SAT

I’m planning to take it in my senior year, Sept, Oct, Nov.

I took MOCK SAT at the beginning of the year and my score

was: math 700 reading 500 essay-> I didn’t get my result back

and I’m assuming it’s about 500 also.

I’m setting my goal at about 2200(the higher the goal the better)

I need some advice and tips to get there

English is my second language and my vocab’s really weak

How should I study for it? Should I read magazines? or

Should I study one of those "SAT VOCAB" books?

And I also need improvement in my essay

How should I prepare for that??

Also With 1 1/2 years left til I take the SAT do you think I can

get there??

Thanks

P.S. when you guys put tips and stuff, please tell how you studied and your results in SAT and your school GPA.
