Or would it be smarter to take a year preparation break?

I ask this question not because I want to work for 4+ years and maybe go to college but due to the fact I don’t feel prepared.

I’m getting a 4.0 GPA with AP classes and I’m participating in track and also in National Honor Society doing community service, I however, fall in SAT scores.

As of now, I have everything to my advantage expect the fact I’m only at 1200+ SAT scores, (which is really confidence destroying low)

For me, I want to go to an all-around good college, not overly prestigious nor underly funded, but a balance in quality of life (I’m spending 4+ years there, I better enjoy it)

As I’ve researched many colleges over the months, most of the colleges with best value for education have semi-high standards. My favorite being University of Illinois at Urbana. Requiring at at least 560+ each section on SATs. Yet my highest SAT score was 510 in reading.

I’m wondering if it’s a good idea to take a year break solely to study for those next SATs and apply.

I know it’s not all about SATs but surely they have a cut off line, and I guarantee they’ll cut off my application when they see my extremely low SATs.

Or am I making a mistake? Will I be at a disadvantage applying?

I want to graduate from high school and get into a good college. My grades are good so I’m halfway there, From what i heard, this test is really hard. I want to do well.

i know you have to take the ACT test in order to get into a good college, but do you have to take an SAT test?

i want to take Sylvan SAT prep. I had a 1980 on PSAT and havent taken the SAT yet but I want to get into a good college so I want like 2200. Are the SAT courses offered by such organizations helpful?

Should you take both or just one to get into a good college. Does the ACT test mean that you don’t have to take the SAT subjects tests??? Thanks

I just finished freshman year, and going to be a sophomore. Right now, Im enrolling in a SAT prep class (Testmasters), and the first 2 times i took the SAT test i scored a 1150.. I ommited A LOT of questions (about 65%) because i didnt know how to solve it.

If I keep on practicing and practicing, is it possible for me to raise my grade up to around 1800? I really want to get into a good college because Im in an extremely competitive high school and yet i make A’s and B’s. So why is it that I’m not doing well on SAT’s? It really freaks me out.

I’m a junior and am completely lost with college and SAT stuff….I want to go into a really good college but my practice SAT scores aren’t looking so great(I took an ACT/SAT combo test with Kaplan and got 1875 SAT and 29 ACT)…which prep classes are best and why? Revolution,Kaplan, Princeton or anything else? Im aiming for 2200 and 33…but it really seems out of reach…

I want to get into a good college and i just took the SAT test today it wasnt that bad but i know im most likely not going to be satisfied by my scores what can i do to get a better score for when i take it next time how can i get prepaird to know everything on the test, i think i did ok on the math but the critical reading is much harder to me

What is the best way to prep for SAT? And is it on the scale of 1600 or 2400? And does your SAT speak louder than your GPA? And if you improve your GPA in the last 2 years of high school will that improve your chances of getting into a good college? Also can you get a scholarship if you get a good score on your SAT?
