How can I get into a college in the USA?
I have already informed myself on the general requirements. As I surfed through the Net I saw that at most universities/colleges applicants, who have sat exams such as AP or International Baccalaureate, have a great advantage. The problem is that I am a Bulgarian high school junior, and I come from the province. My school does not provide any advanced placement courses or something like that, and even if I’d like to take the exam without preparation I still might not be able to do it, for the only school in thecountry where this is possible (in another city) has the right not to admit students from other schools to the exam.
If it turns out that it is impossible to take any course or exam (beyond SAT1, SAT2 and TOEFL), do I still have the chance of getting into a prestigious college? On the other hand, I need a considerable amount of finaid, which I know is provided to students, who possess and ARE ABLE TO SHOW exeptional academic potential.

I am going into my Junior year and I just finished up a SAT practice test which ended up to be 460-560-500 which is 1520/2400 and I have a 3.5 GPA unweighted taking all honors classes right now. Idk what it is weighted. If I keep this up/ improve on these scores will I have a chance in getting into one of these colleges. Also does it help my chances if somebody from your family went through/is going to one of the colleges?

Also, say I take the SAT multiple times, am I able to take scores from each one of the tests to come up with the best possible score or is it based off the test that you scored the highest on.

I recently took both SAT and ACT practice tests. My SAT score was 70th percentile, while my ACT was 98th. All the colleges I want to apply to accept the ACT, and I feel that I could do better on the ACT if I focused all of my studying power into it instead of splitting it with the SAT. I am a freshman, so I have 3 years before I apply to colleges, so some that I like might stop accepting the ACT.

for the practice SAT tests, the highest I have gotten in math was 680 (recently took it and got 640…. so from 640-680). My reading that I just took was a 600 and my writing that I just took (without the essay, just the MC) was 600. I plan on really working on these to improve them, but how do they stand as of now? I plan on graduating a year early, and need to take my SAT in the next couple of months. And also, do you have any tips on improving my scores? What colleges can I get accepted to with these scores (btw, I have all As, and am in many extra curricular activites); Thanks.

Should I take the SAT subject tests as well? I have 3 AP tests in May in Chemistry, Statistics, and Euro. I feel like signing up for subject tests would be even more stressful to study for, especially if I really don’t need to.

So my question is, how important are subject tests to colleges? I know the majority of colleges don’t require them, but some recommend them. Any juniors/ seniors/ college students /adults that can give advice? Thanks!

i am going to be a senior in september….but now that i have an option to apply for colleges in us i am going to take SAT test in january or december for the first and only time (i am alittle tight on finance and cant ask my parents to help cuz they already said no)
HOW DO I PREPARE FOR IT????????
as SAT score is not mandatory in the local colleges it isnt available in my schools so my school doesnt offer any prep either…and the prep centers dont start working with SAT until next july so i need to prepare myself in the next two to three months to take the test in december or january…sooo what do i do??? how do i prepare??? there arent many book stores around so i cant get my hands on the prep books…
(i had a hard time getting the SAT book i have)
are there any free online tests???
anywhere i can prepare for them????

I’m about to go into junior years for high school.
for the last 2 years I really screwed up.
I have like a 3.4 for my freshmen year, and a 2.8 average.
My goal is going to a UC, but according to requirements, I mess up. big time
it’s not that work is hard or anything, I just don’t try

-Should i join any club?
-Are community hours required?
-Any preparation for SAT test?
-DO better in skool of course, I already got an organized system for my usual skool work
-Do any extra circulatory activities or projects after class?
-Involves in competition?
