College Board Bio SAT Subject Practice Test?

Is the College Board provided practice test for the Bio SAT really real tests? I found that on their practice test, I scored much higher than on the practice tests of Barron, Kaplan, Sparknotes

What is the best way to prepare for the SAT< ie which course, Kaplan, Princeton review?

I have looked up Kaplan, Princeton Review, and SylvanPrep, and have pretty much narrowed it down to pick between those three. OF those which one would you pick to prepare for the 0ct 14 2006 test, and why? Please be detailed, provide details from your own experience, and provide pros/cons. Also, what books would be ideal to supplement the course in my free month of August? I have heard a great deal about Princeton Review books and the College board guide, but are they actually helpful? Again, please provide details from personal experience and pros/cons and perhaps suggestions I may have not heard of yet. As always, I will handpick the winner of the 10 points on the factors of quality, length, and fulfillment of the entire question. Thank you in advance for your time and thought.

What are my chances of admission to these colleges?

Do I have a chance of admission at any of the following universities/colleges with these statistics:

GPA: 3.34 on a 4.0 scale
SAT I: 1410/2400 (Math = 450, Writing= 480, Critical Reading = 480)
ACT: 19, Writing: 22
Courses: All College-Prep Classes (CP) with an exception of 1 AP course. I have 4 years of every major subject that colleges require.
Extracurricular Activities: 2 years Varsity Soccer, 2 years Varsity Swimming, 1 year of school Dance Team, joined many school clubs, and worked 10 hours every weekend since 10th grade under the table.
Location: Connecticut
Class Rank: 48 % …my school is in the top 20 best public schools in CT though.
School Type: Regional Public (best public school in area)
I also got great recommendations from my teachers that I had all throughout highschool. Also, my essay is looking great.

*What are my chances at the following schools…
1. Keene State College
2. Western New England College
3. University of Rhode Island
4. Univeristy of New Haven

***I already got accepted into Central Connecticut State University & Chestnut Hill College, but they are not my top choices. My top is Keene State.

I know my SAT/ACT scores are hurting me, but I am not a really great test taker I guess, lol. I already applied to all these schools and I am just waiting for responses….

Do you think I have a solid chance? Thanks

I already looked at college board, etc, i just want the publics opinion =]

Anyone Taken The SAT (10 Points)?

Is the writing really hard to do well on? At this SAT preparation course students, including my friend and I, took practice tests similar to the SAT, which I know because of taking tests from the blue College Board book and asking another friend who took the SAT and the same course when she was our age, about 2-3 years ago.

My friend got an 800 on writing, and I got a 740, but for some reason when she took the real SAT (I haven’t yet), she only scored a 600. What gives? She was really good at writing and did assignments for 25 minutes in 10 minutes, getting maybe 1 wrong. Also the person who is most likely gonig to be valedictorian at our school only got a 710.

Any tips? In the College Board book I’m scoring in the 700s, getting only maybe 4 wrong with. I think my essays are pretty good. I need a good writing score because math is the easiest for me, probably a pretty easy 770+, but critical reading I’m only getting mid to high 600s. I was counting on the writing, which is easy for me, to get me around 2150-2200, but people aren’t doing good on it. Why?? Advice???
Also, on the PSAT I got a 68 on writing (HOWEVER, only 3 were wrong and none blank; it must have been a bad curve, and after looking at the PSAT I realized one or two of those errors were really stupid mistakes).
I know I need a good score for good colleges. I don’t really need help with writing since I’m getting almost every question right under timed conditions. I just don’t get why such smart people are doing so poorly, including my friend who got an 800 on writing for a practice test similar to the SAT.

How can I drastically improve my SAT score? Please help!!?

The first time I took it was in Janurary, and honestly, I didn’t do any practice tests (I just went over a Kaplan study guide):
Critical Reading: 510
Math: 590
Writing: 530
Total: 1630

I took it again in May, and this time I took 4 practice tests from the Princeton Review, and for those, I got at least 2000s. I heard that the questions from Princeton Review are easier than the actual SAT, and my scores seem to prove this:
Critical Reading: 540
Math: 650
Writing: 610
Total: 1800

My scores are extremely disappointing, because I have been working my butt off at school, earning me a weighted GPA of 4.3 by the end of junior year. I am aiming for the top schools, my first choice being Duke University. I’m an international student, so I know that the colleges will expect a lower score from me than they will from American citizens, but I also need financial aid so I need to get the highest score possible (at least 2000).

Since I am very satisfied with my extracurriculars and GPA, it is very disappointing that my SAT score drags it down.

I bought a College Board study guide and I plan to go through the whole book this summer.

I am pretty good at math, but I just can’t seem to get the hard questions on the SAT correct. I’m supposing it’s because of text anxiety, since I get really nervous on tests, especially for math. At my math level, I should be getting perfect scores.

As for Critical Reading, I really don’t know how to improve it. I suppose my vocabulary is quite weak for the SATs since the I struggle the most for the sentence completion questions. Is memorizing vocabulary words the only way to improve my score? I am required to read 6 assigned books for the summer, so I’m guessing that should help my reading comprehension?

(continued below)
I am really aiming for at least a 2000, and I’m thinking of taking it a third (and final) time in October or December. Which do you think will be a better time for me to take it? I can’t take it in November since I’m taking the listening test. The only thing about taking it in December is that I won’t be able to apply for early decision. Should I give that up and have an extra 2 months by take it in December? Also, do colleges take the best individual scores from the 3 times I take it and add them up or not? Please help!!!

Which sat practice test book works best for you?

I already have the college board one and now i just want to buy a book that has practice tests so far i have only seen three which are
