if you are from Canada and want to go to school in the US do you have to write the SAT/ACT test?
I might want to go to school in New York, but I’m from Canada. We don’t have to write an SAT or ACT test here, but if you are from another country, do you still have to do that to get into school in the US? or will they judge you based on Canada’s standards? I’ve looked on websites of some schools and most don’t really specify.

A few of my high school classmates went to American schools, and they wrote the SATs. So I would assume that you do need to write them.

Yes, you have to TAKE (not write?) SAT or ACT test, whichever one your intent school asks for. SAT or ACT testing centers are located throughout world. There are few testing centers in Canada as well.
You should look http://www.collegeboard.org website to check the school and the testing centers,
