Is there a difference? I’m sorry but I am taking them soon, haven’t registered but I will, and I am just wondering. Is there an age limit to taking it? I’m 22 and I know I need if for the University I want to get in to. And where would I take the test? I know I register online with collegeboard but they will tell me where I go right? It will be in my area?
I took the test online and maybe it was luck or maybe I’ve been studying harder then usual, but I got a way higher score then I did when I took an mock sat in May.
Last year I got:
Math-530
Reading-590
Writing-470 (5 on essay)
On the practice I got:
Math: 610
Reading: 640
Writing: 690 (6 on essay)
Are the practice ones maybe easier or do they grade not as accurately? I’d like to know.
I am doing an SAT preparation practice test for my own studious purposes and for some reason my brain stopped working at this problem and I had to stop the timer. If you could do this and explain how to do it quickly that would be great:
If y=1/(x+1), then what is x in terms of y?

i already have a book that teaches you the stuff about sat which include only 4 tests and like 4 quizzes. i need way more to practice and do good on SATs. where can i get a book for math, english, and writing that only has practice tests that come with answer sheets and preferrable for explanations for the answers. by the way, i am preparing for SATs that you take in your junior year

any that have over 15? i really dont want a book thats mostly lessons and only has like 6 tests in it. cause i already own that kind of book. and i would go to the library but the thing is that, the libraries near me only carry a few amount of sat books and they aren’t much help since they are all lessons with around only 4 tests in it
How can I get into a college in the USA?
I have already informed myself on the general requirements. As I surfed through the Net I saw that at most universities/colleges applicants, who have sat exams such as AP or International Baccalaureate, have a great advantage. The problem is that I am a Bulgarian high school junior, and I come from the province. My school does not provide any advanced placement courses or something like that, and even if I’d like to take the exam without preparation I still might not be able to do it, for the only school in thecountry where this is possible (in another city) has the right not to admit students from other schools to the exam.
If it turns out that it is impossible to take any course or exam (beyond SAT1, SAT2 and TOEFL), do I still have the chance of getting into a prestigious college? On the other hand, I need a considerable amount of finaid, which I know is provided to students, who possess and ARE ABLE TO SHOW exeptional academic potential.
Here’s my situation, i’m taking the SAT for the first time this October (gonna be a junior).
K, like I get really really good grades (everyone at my school thinks i’m a genius), but i can’t figure this SAT out. My parents are telling me that this is the last step before getting into an ivy leagure college or something..
I took the PSAT sophomore (and yes, i studied), and i my exact score was 189. 62 in reading, 57 in writing, and 70 in math.
Nowadays, (like i’ve taken more than 7 practice tests from books like official study guide and princeton), my score seems to near 190 STILL.
which is very very bad. I still make about a 70 in math, a 65 in writing, and a 55 in reading..!!! iono, it seems like my reading score dropped (but to tell u the truth, i got REAL lucky on the PSAT to get a 62).
so guys, experts, whatever, what should I do? I really really need at least a 2100. I used to think that i would be able to get a 2200 with some studying, but even that now seems like an unrealistic goal. Everyone i know think that i can ace the SAT without even studying…, this sucks.
help help help (oh yea, i’m self studying, don’t have the time for SAT classes and they don’t seem to help a lot of my friends)
and ps, for the reading, iono why i get a low score. i finish it on time, its just that the passages, and the vocab are hard to understand. I’ve always made an A in english… and i even studied flashcards just to improve on the reading section

i realllly dont want to go to community college before university, and although i know i should have thought of that sooner: i didnt. my gpa should be at least a low 2. something by now.. if i work at it and keep all my grades up, im talking like straight A’s, how much could it improve in one year? and if i do that plus get really good SAT AND ACT test scores, would it be possible for me to skip the community college?? thanks!!
I took both AP World and AP Chem this year and got A’s. I’m at the top of my class, and worked very hard for those grades. I got one of three A’s in Chem and one of 7 A’s in World from classes of about 25/30. I took both AP exams and I felt really good about them, I got 5s on both the practice tests. I signed up for the SAT II tests next weekend. Was this a good choice? Do I really need to study? Or just review a few shaky topics? I am only taking them because I plan on attending an Ivy League (hopefully!) and they are required for Ivies. Thanks a lot!
I am going into my Junior year and I just finished up a SAT practice test which ended up to be 460-560-500 which is 1520/2400 and I have a 3.5 GPA unweighted taking all honors classes right now. Idk what it is weighted. If I keep this up/ improve on these scores will I have a chance in getting into one of these colleges. Also does it help my chances if somebody from your family went through/is going to one of the colleges?
Also, say I take the SAT multiple times, am I able to take scores from each one of the tests to come up with the best possible score or is it based off the test that you scored the highest on.
wondering what kind of goal is a good one to set, will probably get tutoring? is 2200 possible?
